How we finance it is now the challenge that we as the City and Council are working on.

Maybe the old library space could be used as a community center once it moves out of downtown? Are there known plans for that building?

Good question, Gina. I am unsure if there are any plans for the current downtown library once they move out. It is a county building, so there would need to be a partnership involved with that space. I don't know if a final location has been determined/announced for the new flagship library, so still a lot of unknowns...

311 and Portland Street Response being expanded in Portland should help with the hold times as well as officers being able to investigate serious crime

the two office of violence of preventions are collaborating together. Portland and Gresham. Portland and Gresham at this point need to not be like this is a that city issue because so many people cross and live, go to school or work on both sides

Agreed, Andre. We need to collaborate together as a region to work on solutions to this growing problem. It doesn't do any good to push one problem onto another "jurisdiction."

collecting of census data was very challenging during the pandemic, so hopefully it reflects closely to our changing demographics.

just like with crime we need to look at root causes for houselessness and an issue we face is not having the proper resources on a city level to address the issues of the houseless

gresham pushes their houseless to thy forrests or into Portland. that isn't solving houselessness
